The story of your money.
It writes itself.

Moneytale downloads the payments from your banks, categorizes them by itself and shows you where your money goes. No retyping, no spreadsheets.

No sign-up, on made-up data.

How it works

  1. 1. Connect a bank — or upload a statement.

The connection runs over PSD2, the European banking standard: you approve it in your own bank and the app receives your payment history — read-only. Would rather not connect a bank? Upload a PDF statement, camt.053 or a Revolut CSV — that works too.

  2. 2. Payments categorize themselves.

Most of it is settled by seven layers of rules tuned on Slovak banks. Unknown merchants are recognized by AI — each one exactly once, and never seeing your amounts, accounts or people's names. What you correct by hand is sacred: the app never overwrites it.

  3. 3. You read the report.

Every account in one overview: categories, trends, income and expenses. Each month writes itself.

Measured on real VÚB, Tatra banka and Revolut accounts. Other Slovak and European banks over a PSD2 connection or a statement import.

~87 %

of payments were categorized automatically on the very first connection — measured on 1,087 transactions from three banks. The rest you categorize once and Moneytale remembers it.

amounts, IBANs, dates and people's names are seen by the AI. Only the merchant name reaches the model. This is not a promise in the terms, it is architecture.

and your account and its data are gone. Deletion erases everything and revokes the consents at your bank.

Your data.
Your rules.

  • The app never sees your bank credentials — you approve the connection in the bank and can revoke it at any time.

  • PSD2 access is read-only. Moneytale cannot move a cent.

  • The business model is a subscription, not your data. We do not sell it and we do not send it to anyone.

  • The AI layer gets merchant names only — no amounts, no IBANs, no people's names.

  • Your manual corrections are untouchable and account deletion is complete: data and bank consents alike.

Several accounts, an overview nowhere.

A main account at the bank, Revolut for paying abroad, maybe a joint account at home. Every app shows you its own piece — Moneytale shows you the whole.

You run the family budget.

You know what comes in but not where it goes. Here you see it by category, without evenings spent in a spreadsheet.

You optimize.

You save, you invest, and you want exact spending figures, not estimates. Moneytale counts only real bank data — rates and fees come from the bank too, nothing is inferred.

Frequently asked

Is it safe to connect my bank?

The connection runs over PSD2 — the European directive under which your bank, once you approve it, exposes your transaction history for reading. You sign in at the bank, not in Moneytale; the app never sees your password and you can revoke the access at the bank at any time.

What exactly does the AI see?

Only the merchant name from the payment (e.g. “bolt food”). Amounts, IBANs, dates and people's names never go to the AI — the filter is built on the payment type, not on good intentions. And the app asks about each merchant once, after that it knows the answer.

Which banks work?

Tuned on VÚB, Tatra banka and Revolut — measured on real accounts. Other Slovak and EU banks connect over PSD2 — and whatever cannot be connected, you upload as a statement.

What about a credit card?

Banks mostly do not expose credit cards over PSD2. You upload the card's PDF statement and Moneytale matches it to the account — repayments are not duplicated.

How often does the data refresh?

Banks allow ~4 accesses per account per day over PSD2 — the app syncs itself within that limit. It is not real time — a monthly overview does not need to be.

Do I have to connect a bank?

No. Importing PDF statements, camt.053 and Revolut CSV is a full path — categorization works the same.

What does it cost?

Nothing during the beta. Public pricing will be announced before the full launch; beta users get a permanent discount.

How do I delete my data?

One click in settings. Everything is erased and the consents at your bank are revoked too. Nothing is left that could be restored.

Who is behind it?

Moneytale is built by one person — a developer from Bratislava who first built an overview of his own spending and turned the measurements into a product.
