VÚB statements in Moneytale

VÚB is one of the three banks Moneytale is tuned on — measured on real accounts and thousands of payments. The surest path is the monthly PDF statement; the credit-card PDF and the Excel export of movements work too.

What Moneytale reads from VÚB

  • Monthly account statement · PDF

    Internet banking (ib.vub.sk) → Výpisy → Výpisy na stiahnutie. In the VÚB Banking app: Účty → account detail → Výpisy (2-year archive).

  • Credit-card statement · PDF

    VÚB Banking app → Kreditná karta → Výpisy. Issued monthly on the settlement day.

  • Export of movements · XLS / XLSX

    Internet banking → Účty → Pohyby na účte → Export (Excel). In the app: Transakcie → Export.

Steps

  1. Sign in to Internet banking or open the VÚB Banking app.
  2. Open Výpisy for the account and download the monthly statement as PDF — the month you want in your overview.
  3. In Moneytale click Upload a statement and pick the file. The rest happens by itself.
  4. Upload the credit card as its own PDF statement. Moneytale matches it to the account the card is repaid from, so the repayment is not counted twice.

What to watch for

  • The export of movements is capped at 1,500 transactions in Internet banking and takes the last 3 months unless you clear the date filter. For a monthly overview the PDF statement is simpler.
  • Moneytale does not yet accept the XML statement (camt.053) from VÚB — use PDF or Excel. CSV, TXT and HTML exports go through the general table import.

What happens after the upload

Moneytale reads the payments from the statement and categorizes them by itself. It never signs in to the bank, never sees your password, and the file can only be read. Payments it already has from an earlier statement are recognized and not written twice — overlapping statements are fine. When categorizing card payments the AI sees only the cleaned merchant name, never amounts, IBANs or names — and only if you agreed to it.
